Donald J. Smith, Jr., Operations Manager
As General Manager of Graphic Tool, Don is responsible for making sure the right people, resources, and processes are in place. He provides proper tools and mentoring to the Finance, Quoting, Engineering, Purchasing and Plant departments. For Don, the best part about working at Graphic Tool is his team mates: “Everyone is excited about the future and how they will contribute to Graphic Tool’s success.”
Born at the Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota, Don later moved to Elmwood Park, Illinois, where he attended school, and fell in love with making things in Metal Shop class. He later received certification in both apprenticeship and mold design from the Tooling and Manufacturing Association (TMA).
Don was an adjunct faculty member at Oakton Community College, in Des Plaines, Illinois, where he taught adult education courses in Advanced Moldmaking and Mold Design. After 10 years, he was asked to develop and teach a unique Engineering class for the TMA School of Design Program.
Don sits on the Review Board of the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS), and is also a member of the NIMS committee. In addition, he is a member of TMA’s Apprentice Training Committee, and a member of the Education Committee for the American Moldbuilders Associatin (AMBA). He is a certified Lean Black Belt and Six Sigma Green Belt.
In his spare time, Don enjoys golf, gardening and handyman work. (His fondest childhood memory is spending time with his father on the golf course, and he was varsity captain of his high school golf team.) For the past 15 years, he has been the Marshal at PGA Tour events in Chicago.
Don has been married to his high school sweetheart for 40 years; he has two grown children and one grandson.
Tim Bandurski, Shop Foreman
Tim Bandurski is Graphic Tool’s Plant Manager. For him, the best part about working at Graphic Tools is being part of the team, with all the employees and management.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and attended Prosser Vocational High School. He graduated from the Tool and Die Institute in 1984, and was awarded the “Apprentice of the Year” award.
Tim is an avid Blackhawks and Cubs fan and enjoys all sports. His hobbies include golf and bowling. Tim has been married for 34 years and has two grown sons.
Jerrie Delaney, Finance Manager
As Graphic Tool’s Finance Manager, Jerrie Delaney is excited about the company entering a new phase with the change in ownership. “It’s exciting being part of the team that is going to make that happen.” She believes the management team is committed to making Graphic Tool a global presence in the tooling industry. For Jerrie, every day presents a new and exciting challenge.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Jerrie attended Dominican University. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading, and watching football and hockey. Her fondest childhood memory is gardening and cooking with her mother. As an adult, she has enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Jerrie is married and has three grown children, as well as three grown stepchildren and several grandchildren.
John Gallo, Planning and Scheduling Manager
As the Project and Scheduling Manager at Graphic Tool, John Gallo’s primary responsibility is the planning and scheduling of jobs throughout the shop. He works alongside other managers to execute and maintain the shop schedule. To John, the best part about working at Graphic Tool is the team atmosphere, working with other staff members to complete the assigned tasks.
Before coming to Graphic Tool, John worked in a variety of positions at diverse manufacturing companies, honing his skills as Inventory Control Manager, Purchasing Manager, Shipping Manager, Team Leader and Group Leader. Each of these positions helped John to acquire the knowledge and experience that has made him successful at Graphic Tool.
Born in Maywood, Illinois, John grew up in Chicago, where he has remained. He earned a degree in Economics from Illinois State University, where he excelled in math and business-related courses.
John has been married since 1999 and has two daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys fantasy football, cheering on the Chicago Blackhawks and Cubs, and traveling with his family to zoos, aquariums, amusement parks, and historical sights.
